On April 27, 2007, the first Soccer Mom Camp was held at Marquette University. What was unique to me was that this “camp”, to help raise funds for KICKS Against Breast Cancer, was initiated by Khaled El-ahmad and Stan Anderson, assistant coaches for the Marquette MEN’S soccer team. The inspiration and dedication shared by these two men to help us with our cause has reaffirmed the commitment by all of us involved in KABC to keep moving ahead with our mission.
AND so, on April 12th, in conjunction with the 12th Annual KICKS Against Breast Cancer Tournament, we will hold our first Soccer Mom Camp. The camp will be held at the Maryland SoccerPlex from 12:00-1:30 pm. We encourage you to come out to the fields and join in the fun as we make a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer. NO prior soccer experience is required! Instructors will consist of coaches of our participating college teams! All participants will receive a KICKS Against Breast Cancer shirt!
All of the funds raised from this camp will be in honor of Charlotte Moran, USYS Region I Girls ODP Director and Robin Miller, Administrator for the Washington Area Girls Soccer League.
